Monoball Z1+ single pan "MonoballFix"
The pioneering and legendary monoball® B has contributed to the worldwide reputation and fame of ARCA-SWISS since 1964.
It has been constantly refined and improved since it was first produced and replaced by the new monoball® Z1+ which benefits from the last material and technology improvements.
It is available in a giant version, the monoball Z1g+, for supporting very heavy loads.
Lighter and stronger as ever:
The monoball® Z1+ is machined from solid, aeronautical-grade aluminium for robustness and rigidity. It can carry a load of more than 60 kg (132 lb.) yet is remarkably light, at about 620 g (1.37 lb.).
It is recommended to be used with heavy cameras or telephoto lenses.
Movements under control:
The movement of the monoball® Z1+ is incredibily smooth. The patented aspherical ball of the monoball® Z1+ is a guarantee of safety: the greater the inclination, the greater the friction.
There is no longer any risk of the camera suddenly tipping. The friction control system allows the level of friction required for movement of the ball to be set and held at a desired value.
This function offers a further measure of security and allows the photographer to set a desired level of smoothness of movement as a function of the weight of the camera and of the conditions required for a given series of images.
90° Tilt:
A recess in the body of the ball head allows 90° rotation for movement from landscape to portrait format.
Combined with an upper lockable panning mechanism overhead or downward views can also be achieved.
360° panning:
A bottom, lockable panning mechanism with a graduated scale fitted to the underside of the ball head allows rapid alignment of the camera with the subject.
As an option, a top panning mechanism is available with the monoball® Z1+ dp (double panning)
What does "single pan" mean?
sp = single pan-orama means that there is a panorama swivel unit in the base of the ball head so that the ARCA-SWISS monoball can be rotated through 360°.
What does quick set device "MonoballFix" mean?
The Monoballfix lever is easy and safe to use. Due to the compact design and the self-closing mechanism, the MonoballFix quick clamp is an excellent alternative to the other quick clamps.
All MonoballFix camera plates, L-brackets and Monorails from Arca Swiss fit into the MonoballFix quick release.

Schweizer Perfektion die sich lohnt!
Der “Monoball Z1+ single pan (MonoballFix)“ ist auf einem sehr hohen Niveau feinmechanisch präzise gefertigt. Da er eher für’s Mittelformat entwickelt wurde, kann man damit auch sehr gut mit Kamera‘s im Format 24 x 36 mm arbeiten. Bei Aufnahmen in der Natur mit bewegten Objekten, reicht in der Regel eine genau eingestellte Friktion und man kann damit sehr schnell fotografieren (die Kamera nachführen) ohne den Kugelkopf komplett feststellen zu müssen. Interessanter Weise ist sein Gewicht kleiner als das meines größten Kugelkopfes eines anderen bekannten deutschen Herstellers und dieser trägt weniger Gewicht als mein “Monoball Z1+ single pan“.
