Productinformation in detail
ARCA-SWISS d4 gp “monoball®Fix”
Fine drive for perfect panoramas. Precision on every level.
The ARCA-SWISS d4 gp “monoball®Fix” is a compact, high-precision 3D geared head featuring fine mechanical gearing and an integrated geared panoramic function. It combines the proven concept of the d4 – micrometric control, centered design, and dual panorama axes – with the low-profile, vibration-free monoball®Fix quick release system for maximum stability and direct contact between camera and head.
The horizontal and vertical axes are operated by self-locking fine gears that allow millimeter-accurate, repeatable adjustments without play or tightening. The camera always remains perfectly centered above the rotation axis – no lateral shift or perspective tilt. Two independent panorama axes provide precise control at the base and platform.
In the gp (gearedPan) version, the d4 includes an additional fine drive for the upper panorama: It can be rotated freely or finely adjusted via the geared mechanism – ideal for reproducible panoramas and precise horizontal movements directly on the head.

How does the “monoball®Fix” quick release work?
The monoball®Fix system uses a precise, low-profile clamping mechanism. The camera plate is locked directly with a rotation or short lever movement – fast, play-free, and form-fitting. The reduced height minimizes vibrations and provides an even more stable connection between camera and head.
Important note: The monoball®Fix system is precisely matched to the dimensions of original ARCA-SWISS monoball®Fix plates. Only genuine plates should be used, as third-party products with dimensional tolerances may affect clamping performance and safety.
